Tottenham Hotspur quickly made amends for their disappointing 1-1 draw at Leicester City with a clinical performance in a 4-0 win over Everton.
Yves Bissouma, back in the starting XI following his disciplinary suspension, opened the scoring when he fired home from the edge of the box on 14 minutes.
Tottenham were then two up on 25 minutes thanks to a Jordan Pickford error, a heavy touch from a back pass which Son Heung-min duly picked up and slotted home.
Cristian Romero then added a third for Spurs in the 71st minute, rising highest at a corner to nod home off the underside of the bar in his 100th club appearance.
Son capped off the rout with his second of the game six minutes later, a simple finish through Pickford’s legs after great work from the marauding Micky van de Ven.
The game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium also saw a debut from one of Tottenham’s summer signings, and he did a good job.

The player in question is Wilson Odobert, who joined Spurs from Burnley in a £30million deal earlier this month.
Odobert started for Tottenham against Everton and played for 66 minutes before being replaced by Richarlison.
The likes of football.london, the Evening Standard, 90Min and London World all spoke highly of the 19-year-old in their post-match ratings pieces.
Mostly 7s with one 6 for Tottenham debutant Wilson Odobert
Football.london’s Alasdair Gold gave Odobert a 7 out of 10 for his efforts against Sean Dyche’s Toffees.
“His Tottenham debut started brightly with some great touches and ability to jink past opponents,” wrote Gold.
“Did give the ball away a couple of times, including one occasion which Vicario had to end up making a save from, but still a promising start.”
Likewise, Dan Kilpatrick of the Evening Standard went for a 7, writing: “Lively on debut, offering Spurs pace and width down the left.
“His final ball was not quite there and Everton nearly punished a loose pass in the second half, when Vicario saved from Lindstrom.”
90Min also went with a 7, and they wrote: “A fine debut for Tottenham’s new winger.
“Showed a real determination to take his man on regardless of where he popped up on the pitch.”
Meanwhile, London World went with 6 out of 10, saying: “Dangerous early on but fizzled out as the game went on and looked a little vulnerable defensively at times.
“He almost gave away a goal in the 57th minute when he played a poor pass across the middle of the pitch.
“That was the low point, though, and there were promising signs on the ball.”
Tottenham fans were certainly pleased with Odobert’s debut, and all in all, it was definitely a promising start from the youngster.
Spurs are doing well to build a great team not only for the present, but for the future.
