Tottenham Hotspur have had a busy transfer window with five new players arriving in North London this summer.

Spurs signed Dominic Solanke as their headline addition with the striker being bought for a club-record fee of £65 million.

Teenage midfield duo Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall also arrived at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with the former being signed for £40 million from Leeds.

Wilson Odobert impressed on his Tottenham debut having signed from Burnley in a deal worth around £25 million. Meanwhile, Yang Min-hyuk was acquired from South Korean club Gangwon FC and loaned back until January 2025.

With so many exciting, young talents to pick from, Pape Matar Sarr has named the player who has impressed him the most over the summer.

Pape Matar Sarr impressed most by Lucas Bergvall

Sarr has named Bergvall as the Tottenham new signing who has been the most impressive and claims the Swede will become ‘one of the world’s best’.

The Senegalese midfielder claims the teenager is ‘never under pressure’ when on the ball and is technically ‘fantastic’.

Sarr told The Sun: “Lucas. I really love his style. He’s never under pressure when he’s on the ball. Technically, he’s fantastic.

“He’s bound to be one of the world’s top players. He’s got all the assets. With work, he’ll get to the very top.”

Bergvall has so far been a substitute in both of Tottenham’s opening matches, but as Sarr claims, his incredible ability means it won’t be long before he becomes a starter.

Can Lucas Bergvall work his way into Tottenham’s midfield?

Ange Postecoglou had an array of incredible young midfield talent sitting on the bench against Everton with Sarr, Gray and Bergvall all at his disposal.

The Australian coach opted for a very attacking line-up with Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison starting as number tens.

Odobert and Brennan Johnson were selected as the wingers and Heung-min Son was the number nine. Yves Bissouma returned from suspension as the only defensive-minded option in the midfield.

Fielding the same line-up seems unsustainable and Postecoglou will need to find the right balance with potentially Gray, Bergvall and Sarr all vying for Kulusveski’s spot.

Maddison appears to have nailed his place in the team following a strong start to the campaign with assists against Leicester and Everton.

For now, Tottenham’s most balanced midfield probably looks like Maddison, Bergvall and Bissouma.
