Former Newcastle United joint-owner Amanda Staveley has failed with an approach to buy Tottenham Hotspur.

While it may be the international break, Tottenham have found themselves in the headlines recently.

Daniel Levy has resigned as chairman after holding the position for 25 years. Tottenham fans will now be hoping for a new era where Spurs sign Morgan Rogers and other elite talent.

And they really could enter one if the club is sold to Staveley and PCP International Finance Ltd or another consortium.

Amanda Staveley can’t make Tottenham bid for six months if she rules out takeover now

Both Amanda Staveley, through PCP International Finance Ltd, and an Asian consortium have had approaches to buy Tottenham knocked back.

As a result, both parties must now announce whether they intend to bid for the club or not by October 5.

As per The Telegraph, if Staveley confirms that PCP will not be making an official offer to buy Tottenham, they cannot come back to the table for six months.

Spurs fans will welcome a takeover, especially if interested parties are willing to spend as much as the owners at their fierce rivals Chelsea.

Chelsea have not messed about in the transfer market since being taken over by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.

Under them, they have made two transfers worth more than £100m each, signing Moises Caicedo for £115m and Enzo Fernandez for £107m.

It is the kind of transfer business that the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium faithful would love to see.

ENIC and Lewis family’s stance on Tottenham sale

A Tottenham takeover is not imminent and does not even look likely at this stage, which will disappoint supporters.

ENIC and the Lewis family’s current stance is that Tottenham are not for sale, something confirmed in a statement on the club’s official website.

On Sunday night, Spurs’ site posted: “The Board of the Club and ENIC confirm that Tottenham Hotspur is not for sale and ENIC has no intention to accept any such offer to acquire its interest in the Club.”

Regarding matters on the pitch, Thomas Frank’s side have a London derby against West Ham United to look forward to after the international break.
