Tottenham will be hoping that the shock decision for their chairman to depart at the start of this month will allow them to move forward in all aspects.
The club’s official statement stated that Daniel Levy had stepped down from his role at the club, marking an end to 25 years of service to Spurs.
The news could end up being the start of a new era for the North London side, although there are currently no plans to make any changes to the ownership structure of the club.
Many are hoping it will be the start of a plethora of big signings coming through the door, despite the fact this summer saw them add Xavi Simons and Mohammed Kudus to their first team squad for significant money.

Other Premier League clubs were ‘fed up’ of Daniel Levy as Tottenham chairman
The Kudus deal marked a rarity in recent years of Spurs spending big to bring a player in from a fellow Premier League club, with this occuring less and less as Levy’s time at the club carried on.
Journalist Jonathan Northcroft told The Sunday Supplement that English sides had started to get ‘fed up’ of dealing with Spurs, and how their prior owner would be in negotiations.
He said: “Clubs just got fed up dealing with them. I’ve had conversations that go ‘well Tottenham want him, but we don’t want to get into a negotiation with Daniel Levy, because it’s not pleasant.
“If you look at the number of great signings from within the Premier League itself, I think that’s started to diminish. I think English clubs stopped selling quite so often to Tottenham, because they knew they were very unlikely to strike a deal.”

Top 10 Tottenham signings under Daniel Levy
Despite a stigma that Levy refused to spend big money, there is a sensational list of players who make up the top ten signings he has made in North London.

Levy departs with a strong legacy as one of the most influential people in the history of this football club following the work he has done to make Spurs one of the big players in the Premier League.
However, the time was likely right for him to leave, opening up an exciting future for the club under new leadership.
