In his final summer as Tottenham Hotspur chairman, Daniel Levy oversaw some big arrivals at the club.
Tottenham spent a lot of money on Xavi Simons and Mohammed Kudus, paying more than £100m combined on the two players.
Spurs could also get their chequebook out in the January transfer window. It has been claimed that Tottenham are eyeing Malick Fofana after being linked with the Lyon winger in the summer.
However, under Levy, the Europa League winners have not always spent big, and supporters of the north London club will now be hoping that changes following the 63-year-old’s decision to step down from his role as chairman.
Spurs fans will now be monitoring their club’s interest in one of the Premier League‘s biggest talents very closely.

Tottenham signing Morgan Rogers would truly show start of new era in north London
Tottenham were linked with Aston Villa attacking midfielder Morgan Rogers during the summer transfer window, and those links have not gone away.
According to TEAMtalk, Thomas Frank’s side could become serious contenders for Rogers’ signature in the near future.
However, signing the 23-year-old will not be an easy task. Villa made it a difficult one during the summer and could do the same thing in 2026.
TEAMtalk’s report claims that Villa will slap a £100m price tag on Rogers’ head, but that is not the only thing Spurs will have to worry about.
It is thought that their London rivals Chelsea are also keen on the England international.
If Tottenham make a £100m signing while seeing off competition from the Club World Cup winners, though, it really would be evidence of them moving into a new era. Such a thing could not even be dreamt about if Levy were still chairman.

Tottenham’s record signing under Daniel Levy
Most of Tottenham’s rivals have made signings who have cost £100m or more. Liverpool signed Alexander Isak for £125m and Florian Wirtz for £116m during the summer, for example.
| Rank | Player | Club | Signed from | Transfer fee |
| 1. | Alexander Isak | Liverpool | Newcastle United | £125m |
| 2. | Florian Wirtz | Liverpool | Bayer Leverkusen | £116m |
| 3. | Moises Caicedo | Chelsea | Brighton & Hove Albion | £115m |
| 4. | Enzo Fernandez | Chelsea | Benfica | £107m |
| 5. | Declan Rice | Arsenal | West Ham United | £105m |
| 6. | Jack Grealish | Manchester City | Aston Villa | £100m |
Tottenham are yet to reach such figures, with their record signing being Dominic Solanke, who cost Levy and the club’s owners £65m.
Maybe that is not a bad thing. But if Tottenham want to reach the elite level in their post-Levy era, the above may need to change.
