Erling Haaland was spotted speaking to Micky van de Ven after Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-1 win over Manchester City.

Goals from Timo Werner and Pape Matar Sarr helped Spurs to secure a major win over Pep Guardiola’s side and set up a quarter-final tie at home to Manchester United.

However, an injury to Micky van de Ven put a slight dampener on things for the hosts as the defender was forced off with a hamstring issue.

The Dutch international suffered the injury when tackling Savinho and was forced off after just 14 minutes being replaced by Destiny Udogie.

Now after the game, Man City’s star man could be seen interacting with Van de Ven following his side’s defeat in the League Cup.

Erling Haaland’s classy message to Micky van de Ven

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland was spotted embracing Van de Ven in the tunnel at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and asking the defender how his injury was.

The 24-year-old did not get on the pitch in North London as Pep Guardiola looked to protect some of his senior stars, with his squad already struggling with several injuries.

Despite the defeat, the City squad were still in good spirits after the game with plenty of interactions going on between the two teams after the full-time whistle.

Big respect to the Norwiegn for checking on Van de Ven who was visibly upset having sustained another hamstring injury, although it’s unclear how the Spurs star responded.

How bad is Micky van de Ven’s hamstring injury?

Injury expert Physio Scout on X has eased fears of it being a bad hamstring injury for Van de Ven, claiming it likely looks to be either tightness or a moderate strain.

Van de Ven was spotted feeling the back of his leg before the clash suggesting he was already struggling prior to kick-off.

Only until he has had scans will we know the true extent of the damage but if it is just tightness, his recovery would be less than a week. However, a more serious grade one or two strain would sideline him for two to four or four to six weeks.
