Ahead of Thursday’s Europa League away clash with Ferencvaros, Tottenham are in promising form.
Spurs demolished Manchester United 3-0 on Sunday, extending their unbeaten run to four matches in all competitions.
Ange Postecoglou’s side have scored three goals in each of their last three matches, with Brennan Johnson finding strong form for Spurs.
Before the United victory, Tottenham made the perfect start to their Europa League campaign, beating Qarabag FK 3-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Focus will now turn back to the European competition, with Spurs fans gearing up for an over 1,000-mile journey to Hungary to face Ferencvaros. However, seasoned Tottenham away-day goers will know that a trip to Budapest is a short journey in comparison to the club’s past experiences.
Here are Tottenham’s most epic European away days and just how far fans had to travel to experience them.
AEL Limassol – 28/08/14 – 2560 miles

After a sixth-placed Premier League finish the previous season, Spurs entered the Europa League at the playoff stage.
They were drawn with Cypriot side AEL Limassol and made the 2560-mile journey to the Alphamega Stadium for the first leg.
Limassol took the lead through Adrian Sardinero, before a rare Spurs goal for Roberto Soldado levelled the game with 15 minutes to play.
Five minutes later, Spurs found their winner, and it was a significant one in hindsight. Harry Kane found the net in what was his first goal of the 14/15 season, the campaign that would end up being his breakthrough for his boyhood club.
Dinamo Tbilisi – 22/08/13 – 2822 miles

The season before their trip to Cyprus, Spurs fans face a 2822-mile journey to Georgia to face Dinamo Tbilisi in the Europa League playoff round.
Bracing himself for the loss of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid, Andre Villas-Boas would’ve been delighted to see his side romp to a 5-0 victory.
Most importantly, new signing Soldado scored a brace, whilst Brazilian midfielder Paulinho also opened his account for Tottenham.
A second-leg home victory saw Spurs safely through to the group stage, where a perfect record saw them through into the knockout stages. They would eventually bow out of the Europa League in a defeat to Benfica in the round of 16.
Anzhi Makhachkala – 3/10/13 – 2838 miles

Part of Spurs’ perfect 13/14 Europa League group stage campaign was a 2838-mile trip to Russia to face Anzhi Makhachkala.
The now-dissolved side had become a household name for English football fans, with both Liverpool and Newcastle failing to win in Russia the previous season.
However, stars such as Samuel Eto’o and Willian had moved on, aiding Spurs to a 2-0 victory with goals from Jermain Defoe and Nacer Chadli.
Budget cuts saw Anzhi relegated from the Russian Premier League at the end of the season before their eventual dissolving in 2022.
Qarabag FK – 26/11/15 – 3069 miles

Spurs are no strangers to Azerbaijani side Quarabag FK, having already faced them in this season’s Europa League competition.
Goals from Johnson, Pape Matar Sarr and Dominic Solanke dispatched Qarabag this season, but their 2015 meeting in Azarbaijan was much tighter.
After travelling over 3000 miles, Mauricio Pochettino’s side struggled to break down the host’s defence, until Kane stepped up to secure a 1-0 win with 12 minutes left to play.
This win helped Spurs reach the knockout stages, only to be bested by Borussia Dortmund in the round of 16.
Hapoel Tel Aviv – 08/11/07 – 3074 miles

The 07/08 season was full of mixed emotions for Tottenham. The Carling Cup triumph over Chelsea remains the club’s last trophy, whereas an 11th place league finish was not one to celebrate.
The UEFA Cup campaign ended in heartbreak with a loss on penalties to PSV in the round of 16, but Spurs fans can reflect fondly on their most epic European away day to date.
Travelling to Tel Aviv, Spurs needed a victory to bounce back from their home defeat to Getafe in the previous round of fixtures.
The iconic strike pairing of Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov proved too powerful for the Israeli side, with both scoring in a 2-0 Tottenham victory.
