Tottenham players Destiny Udogie and Yves Bissouma have both been sent off in the Premier League this season but they are not far away from another suspension.
Yves Bissouma got sent off in Tottenham’s win over Luton, whilst Destiny Udogie was sent off in the loss to Chelsea.
Spurs fans may feel that the pair are now far away from new Premier League suspensions due to their sendings off, but this is not the case.
Ange Postecoglou’s squad has been hit lately, with key players like Micky van de Ven injured. The manager will now be worried about new suspensions for Bissouma and Udogie.

Why Destiny Udogie and Yves Bissouma are not far away from another suspension
Udogie will now be suspended for one game after receiving two yellow cards in the game against Chelsea. Bissouma has already served his suspension for the two yellow cards he received against Luton.
In the Premier League, players who receive five yellow cards in the first 19 games of the season will receive a one-match suspension. Meanwhile, players who receive 10 yellow cards in the first 32 games will receive a two-match suspension.
Bissouma has technically received six yellow cards and Udogie has received five, so Spurs fans may feel that they are now both far away from their next suspension.
This is not the case as the Premier League rules for yellow card suspensions changes when a player receives two yellow cards in one match.
Many may be wondering about Cristian Romero, who also got sent off against Chelsea. His card was a straight red card and he is only on two yellow cards for the season so he is not close to another suspension when he returns from his three match ban.

Premier League suspension rule explained
When a player, like Bissouma and Udogie, receives two yellow cards in one game, they are not included as yellow cards anymore and are instead simply a red card, like they are in the game.
This means that instead of six yellow cards, Bissouma is technically on four, whilst Udogie is on three yellow cards. Therefore, Bissouma is only one yellow card away from another suspension whilst Udogie is two yellow cards from another suspension, via The FA. The one positive is that after players who receive five yellow cards after 19 games do not receive a one-match ban.
With the injuries currently, Postecoglou will be hoping that his players keep a lot more disciplined than they have been over recent weeks.
