Ange Postecoglou comments on Micky van de Ven injury

The Dutch defender has been crucial for Spurs this season and he has started all eleven games so far, scoring one goal. Therefore, to see him have to be carried off during the London derby with Chelsea is not good news. Postecoglou’s small injury update on van de Ven will not please Spurs fans either.

His comments, which Fabrizio Romano reported on Twitter, around the injury to van de Ven, as well as the possible injury to James Maddison, said: “It’s too early to talk about Maddison and Van de Ven injuries but… for Micky, it looks like a significant one”.

The fact that the Spurs manager has called it a significant injury emphasises that we could see van de Ven sidelined for a long period. The player has been praised for his performances this season.

Therefore it’s likely that Spurs could be without the defender as well as suspended duo Destiny Udogie and Cristian Romero, who were both sent off against Chelsea.
