Tottenham’s Christmas campaign is starting to heat up as they travel to Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day.
Facing off against a familiar face in Nuno Espirito Santo, Spurs fans will be hoping their former manager doesn’t come back to haunt them.
The Tottenham faithful, however, will be encouraged by the fact that the City Ground has been a happy hunting ground for Spurs in recent times, with the Lilywhites picking up two wins in their last three visits.
That though, isn’t the only record that will leave Tottenham supporters feeling positive ahead of Boxing Day.

Tottenham are unbeaten on Boxing Day since 2003
Whether you’re tucking into your Christmas Day leftovers or visiting family and friends – football can always find a way of dampening your spirits on Boxing Day.
Luckily for Spurs fans, though, that hasn’t been the case in recent years, with the Lilywhites enjoying a very impressive record when it comes to playing on St Stephen’s Day.
Tottenham’s record is so good infact, they have actually gone 21 years since they last lost on Boxing Day – last tasting defeat back in 2003 against Portsmouth.
| Season | Boxing Day Results | Scorers |
| 14/15 | Leicester 1-2 Tottenham | Eriksen, Kane |
| 15/16 | Tottenham 3-0 Norwich | Kane x2, Carroll |
| 16/17 | No game on Boxing Day | N/A |
| 17/18 | Tottenham 5-2 Southampton | Kane x3, Dele, Son |
| 18/19 | Tottenham 5-0 Bournemouth | Son x2, Lucas, Eriksen, Kane |
| 19/20 | Tottenham 2-1 Brighton | Dele, Kane |
| 20/21 | No game on Boxing Day | N/A |
| 21/22 | Tottenham 3-0 Crystal Palace | Kane, Lucas, Son |
| 22/23 | Brentford 2-2 Tottenham | Kane, Hojbjerg |
| 23/24 | No game on Boxing day | No game on Boxing Day |
As you can see above, Tottenham have had some five-star performances against the likes of Bournemouth and Crystal Palace in recent seasons – something Ange Postecoglou’s side will be looking to replicate when they face off against Forest.
Rodrigo Bentancur will return from suspension against Nottingham Forest
Tottenham’s trip to the City Ground will also be aided by the return of Rodrigo Bentancur, following the expiration of his ban.
Bentancur was banned for seven games by the FA after the Uruagyan made a racial slur about Spurs team-mate Heung-min Son.
Postecoglou claimed Bentancur’s ban was ‘a little harsh’ when questioned on the FA’s decision and the Aussie has had to make do without his midfielder for a number of games.
After sitting out games against Manchester City and Liverpool, the 27-year-old will likely return to the base of the midfield against Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
