Tottenham Hotspur’s Rodrigo Bentancur has officially been banned for seven matches by the FA after breaching Rule E3 in relation to a media interview.

Bentancur was charged by the FA back in September for comments he made towards teammate Heung-min Son on Uruguayan television. His comments were regarding the player’s South Korean heritage.

Ange Postecoglou now faces the prospect of having to do without one of his best midfielders for seven games in domestic competitions, including one important cup tie.

Now, The Spurs News takes a look at the matches the Spurs midfielder will miss as he serves his suspension from the Football Association.

Which Tottenham fixtures will Rodrigo Bentancur miss?

The FA’s ban for Bentancur comes at just the wrong moment for Tottenham who are facing a hectic schedule of fixtures, with nine matches in the space of just 29 days.

Postecoglou is blessed with many midfield options, however, losing a player as important as Bentancur is still a huge blow.

Most notably, the former Juventus star will miss the Carabao Cup quarter-final tie against Manchester United and Spurs’ trip to the Etihad on November 23.

It’s also important to note that his ban only applies to domestic competitions, so he will still be eligible to play in the Europa League. Spurs face Roma and Rangers in their next two European games.

Archie Gray should replace Bentancur, not Yves Bissouma

Yves Bissouma appears to be the obvious candidate to replace Bentancur, however, the Australian manager should be looking to finally hand Archie Gray his chance in midfield.

The £30 million signing has had to patiently wait for his chance in the league and midfield, having only featured in the Carabao Cup and Europa League as a full-back.

Bissouma has hardly been ripping up any trees when he’s been played in midfield and he’s lost his place in the team to Bentancur.

Gray’s versatile displays have seen him show enough quality to show what a talented player he is, even at 18 and now is his chance to shine.
