Tottenham’s Under-21s side have made a decent start to the new season. Therefore, it’s no great surprise that one Spurs youngster has been shortlisted for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for August.
In the early weeks of the 2025/26 campaign, Tottenham have two wins and one defeat in the Premier League 2. They beat Sunderland and Nottingham Forest either side of a defeat against Crystal Palace.
The Spurs academy have produced so many talented youngsters over the years, so hopefully the next breakout star is currently shining for the U21s. Back in October 2024, Gary Mabbutt hailed Spurs youngsters Will Lankshear and Mikey Moore by tipping them for huge futures. They are currently out on loan at Oxford United and Rangers, respectively, as they continue their own journeys.

Reiss-Alexander Russell-Denny joined Tottenham from Chelsea in February
In February 2025, Spurs confirmed the signing of Russell-Denny from close rivals Chelsea.
The talented midfielder joined the Blues as an Under-8 and worked his way up various age groups, but he eventually moved across London earlier this calendar year.
It is exciting that he’s under contract with Spurs until 2028 because he penned a three-year deal when he first joined. Since then we’ve seen him emerge as a really important figure for the U21s team.
Let’s wait and see if he gets a first taste of senior football at some stage this season under Thomas Frank.
