Tottenham Hotspur Under-21s enjoyed a fruitful campaign last season, winning the Premier League 2 title and reaching the Premier League Cup final.
This term, Wayne Burnett’s charges have picked up from where they left off in 2023/24, winning their Premier League 2 opener against Chelsea last Friday.
Tottenham’s U21s also got their EFL Trophy campaign under way in midweek, playing out a 3-3 draw at Bristol Rovers and picking up a bonus point in the ensuing penalty shootout.
Isaac Hutchinson put the hosts ahead on eight minutes before a Will Lankshear rocket restored parity in the 27th minute at the Memorial Stadium.
Mikey Moore then put Spurs ahead in the 50th minute of the Southern Group G tie, but Rovers youngster Kofi Shaw equalised six minutes later.
Oyindamola Ajay made it 3-2 for Tottenham on 70 minutes, but the hosts once again drew level after six minutes, this time through Luke McCormick.
The points were shared, but Spurs then picked up the bonus point as Luca Gunter denied Jake Garrett in the shootout before substitute Oli Irow converted the winning spot-kick.

Will Lankshear goal wows Tottenham fans
There were plenty of positives for Tottenham, not least Mikey Moore’s impressive performance, complete with a goal and two assists.
Spurs fans also raved about Will Lankshear, who scored a ‘Kane-esque’ goal to break the deadlock for the north Londoners.
Here is what some Spurs fans said about the 19-year-old striker’s goal.
What Paul O’Keefe has said about Will Lankshear injury
Lankshear sadly had to come off in the 88th minute due to an apparent hamstring injury.
Paul O’Keefe was asked by a fan on Wednesday night whether he had any updates on the Spurs striker.
“Hammy,” he said. “Waiting on full diagnosis and outlook.”
Hopefully it’s nothing serious, as Lankshear has come a really long way over the past year and looks like he has a bright future ahead of him.
The teenager has been prolific for Spurs at youth level and it’s clear that he has outgrown the Under-21s setup.
With that in mind, the best thing for Lankshear now would be to either be in the first-team picture this season or go out on loan to an EFL side.
