James Maddison has been spotted showing love for one of Tottenham Hotspur’s best academy talents in training with the youngster set to start against Galatasaray.

Maddison isn’t having the best moment in his career right now with the midfielder having lost his place in the team. Although, the 27-year-old did score a superb free-kick against Aston Villa on the weekend which may have just got him back in the manager’s good books given Ange Postecoglou’s reaction after the win.

The England international is also expected to start for Tottenham in Turkey as the Lilywhites look to maintain their perfect start to the Europa League.

James Maddison hyping up Will Lankshear

Some lovely footage of James Maddison hyping up Will Lankshear in Tottenham training has emerged ahead of the team’s trip to Galatasaray.

Madders looks to be stepping up in his senior role as vice-captain by showing support to one of the club’s best-emerging academy talents.

Prior to training, Maddison said to Lankshear: ” Willy Lanks, there’s a man who’s scoring some goals in training today, let’s go big boy.”

It’s great to see such camaraderie shown by Maddison and how he is making the younger players feel welcome in Postecoglou’s squad.

Is Will Lankshear expected to start vs Galatasaray?

Given Richarlison’s injury, Dominic Solanke’s need for a rest and Heung-min Son being eased back into the team, the striker spot looks open for Lankshear to take in Turkey.

The 19-year-old has made just one appearance so far this season and that came in the 2-1 win over Ferencvárosi on October 3.

Lankshear is expected to be one of four teenagers who could start for Tottenham and face a hostile atmosphere from the Galatasaray supporters. Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray and Mikey Moore are the others set to start.

Tottenham’s predicted line up vs Galatasaray: Forster; Gray, Dragusin, Davies, Udogie; Bissouma, Bergvall, Maddison; Moore, Werner, Lankshear.
