Heung-min Son may no longer play for Tottenham, but Spurs fans have still thrown support behind him from afar after his record-levelling performance for South Korea.
While Tottenham ace Djed Spence made his England debut, former club captain faced Mexico in Nashville, Tennessee on Tuesday, scoring in a 2-2 draw with the South American nation.
Fulham’s Raul Jiminez gave Mexico the lead, before Son and Oh Hyeon-gyu put South Korea ahead in the second half. Santiago Gimenez netted a last gap equaliser in the fourth minute of added time.
Son has managed two goals and an assist across the international break, with the first two contributions coming against the United States – and Spurs fans on social media think their former skipper has silenced any doubts around whether he’s still got it.

Heung min-Son proves he’s still at the top of the game as he scores in friendly against Mexico
Spurs fans have shown plenty of love for Son on X in reaction to his international goals. He turned 33 this summer, but supporters think he’s proving age is just a number.
“Son Heung-min pillaged CONCACAF this window,” one wrote. “If there are any doubters this guy is still elite, please take this opportunity to stop.”
A second said: “Yes, he, Son Heung-min scored the goal. What a goal. He’s the man.”
“I love how he always responds in the field to anyone who try to doubt him and his role as a captain,” a third added.
A fourth, clearly still keeping an eye on his club’s former captain, wrote: “I love waking up to Son goals!”
Los Angeles FC ace levels record number of appearances for South Korea
Son has now levelled a record number of caps for South Korea’s national team following his appearances against the United States and Mexico.
The LAFC forward is tied with former striker Cha Bum-kun and current national team boss Hong Myung-bo for the most games in the men’s team.
He has also now bagged 53 goals, putting him five behind the country’s highest-ever scorer Hong Myung-bo.
Ji So-yun tops South Korea’s all-time list with 169 caps for the women’s national team.
