Tottenham fans hail Ange Postecoglou’s wholesome Europa League gesture for young Spurs supporter

Ange Postecoglou may no longer be Tottenham manager but he’s still making Spurs fans smile – and he’s just created an unforgettable memory for one young supporter.

Postecoglou was sacked by Tottenham at the end of last season after he oversaw a 17th place finish in the Premier League in his second season in charge. This was despite him earning Spurs their first trophy since 2008 by winning the Europa League. He convinced Lucas Bergvall to sign for Spurs over Barcelona, as well as helping to bring in a number of other Tottenham’s current stars.

The former Celtic manager was appointed as Nottingham Forest boss earlier this month to replace the sacked Nuno Espirito Santo.

However, he clearly still has a big place in his heart for Spurs, judging off a social media post of him and a young fan that has gone viral on X.

Ange Postecoglou gives signed Europa League final memento to young Tottenham fan

A Spurs fan posted a photo of her son and Postecoglou on X, as well as a signed Europa League final foam finger.

She wrote: “When Big Ange is at your local football club watching his son play against them. Such a nice guy. Ryley thanked him for bringing the cup home.”

The youngster had a Spurs kit on, and the Australian manager was giving him a big hug in the snap.

Tottenham fans loved the post, with one fan replying: “The ‘COYS’ on the foam finger…. My gaffer.”

“Nothing will ever make me dislike the bloke,” he said.

A third added: “I think he’s a great man, with footballing principles I loved and who helped deliver the greatest night of my life supporting THFC… Eventually, I hope we can leave it at that and just appreciate what he did for our football club.”

Ange Postecoglou ‘pleased’ with elements of Nottingham Forest games as he waits on first win

Postecoglou is yet to win a game with his new club Nottingham Forest. His side drew 1-1 with Burnley at the weekend.

However, the 60-year-old believes he will be able to get a victory under his belt soon after being ‘pleased’ with elements of his side’s games.

“Really happy with the way, you know,” he said after the Burnley draw. “We played some parts of the game, controlled it really well, created enough chances to win the game. They’re always a threat on counter attacks and transitions.

“So you know, disappointing we didn’t win but certainly pleased with what I saw from a footballing perspective.”

Forest are currently 15th in the league, while Spurs sit third after their draw with Brighton.
