Joao Palhinha and his Tottenham Hotspur teammates should not be too disappointed following their draw with Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.
Tottenham found themselves 2-0 down at one point and looked to be heading for their second loss of the season.

However, a Richarlison finish and late own goal from Jan Paul van Hecke saw Spurs mount a comeback and earn a point.
Amid interest from Tottenham, Van Hecke may have been auditioning for a move so the own goal does not look great. But there was probably not much that the centre-back could have done.

Joao Palhinha claims Tottenham deserved to beat Brighton
According to Palhinha, the Europa League winners should have defeated Van Hecke and his Brighton teammates.
Failing to do so has left the Tottenham dressing room feeling extremely disappointed.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Palhinha said: “I think we leave this stadium really sad, because in my opinion, we completely deserved to win the game. I think we started really well and created a lot of chances. Arriving to the last third in good shape. We suffered two goals against the run of play.
“It is not easy losing 2-0 away, in a tough stadium like this against a good team. We leave a bit with a feeling off we could’ve done more.”
The midfielder can still be satisfied with his individual performance. Palhinha was excellent against West Ham United last Saturday and produced another top display at the Amex Stadium.
Spurs have only signed the 30-year-old from Bayern Munich on loan, but it is thought that they have a £27m buy option. At this rate, they are going to have to trigger it.

Joao Palhinha puts in another solid performance
During his first spell in the Premier League, Palhinha was a tackling machine, and he does not appear to have lost his ability to win the ball back.
At the Amex, the Portuguese made seven tackles. He also managed to make two interceptions. All in all, Palhinha is easily one of the best defensive midfielders in England.

Right now, Thomas Frank has some really good midfield options, with Lucas Bergvall performing well, too.
He scored in Tottenham’s 3-0 victory over West Ham, heading the ball home after an excellent run. Ex-Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson thought Bergvall’s movement was terrific.
If Bergvall, Palhinha and the rest of Spurs’ midfield keep performing, Frank’s men will not have a bad season.
