Timo Werner transfer delay

Tottenham are still yet to make a decision over a potential permanent transfer for forward Timo Werner in the summer transfer window. The Germany international joined Spurs on a loan switch in January, which includes a £15million option to sign permanently.

While the Lilywhites have seen some impressive spells from the former Chelsea man, the deal hasn’t been secured yet and the run ahead could be key. According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham are set to keep a close eye on the performances of Werner in the coming weeks.

Clashes with Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool will firmly test his and the team’s ability in the top four race. Should Werner continue to impress, then perhaps a full transfer in the summer will follow.

Ange Postecoglou and Ted Lasso comparison

Pundit Frank Lebouf has criticised Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou stating that he is “like Ted Lasso” with the culture created at the club. It comes as Spurs continue to progress under the head coach, tasked with a long-term turnaround at the club.

One of the stars of the team, Dejan Kulusevski, stated how trophies are rarely discussed in the dressing room and it’s about finding the team and progressing. Responding to that on ESPN FC, Lebouf said: “I have a smile on my face when I read that [Kulusevski comments] and when I listen to Postecoglou because it’s like Ted Lasso.

“We’ve found the new Ted Lasso and the new AFC Richmond club. You know, where everyone is happy, they don’t care about winning trophies, they only want to be happy and win games playing well. It’s only the truth.”

Bryan Gil impresses coaches

With the international break firmly underway, there are only a few stars remaining at Hotspur Way for training. It gives a few chances for players to impress and force themselves back into the team over the final run-in.

One of those that could be involved in some capacity is Bryan Gil, who has struggled for minutes this season. The forward was seen in training footage impressing the coaches, with one shouting: “Go on, Bryan. Go on, Bryan… excellent!”

There will be hope for the Spaniard that he will have a say on the top four race.
