Fabrizio Romano has claimed Tottenham Hotspur could still decide against signing Timo Werner.
The north London side have the option to sign the German permanently in the summer transfer window after he joined on loan in January.
However, Ange Postecoglou’s men are still said to decide on Timo Werner and there is a key reason why…

Why Tottenham have not already signed Werner
According to the transfer guru, the north London side are using a specific strategy when it comes the 28-year-old forward.
He suggests some clubs decide quickly on whether they want to make loan signings permanent, but this is not the case with Werner.
Spurs have some seriously difficult fixtures coming up against the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City; games which Werner will be watched closely.
It is only then that Spurs will make a decision on whether they want to take up the £15m option in Werner’s loan to make his stay permanent.

What was said about Werner’s miss vs Fulham
Having finally found the back of the net in a Spurs shirt against Crystal Palace, Werner made it two-in-two against Aston Villa.
This was not enough to see the German start in the game against Fulham last weekend.
However, he did come off the bench in the latter stages of the game when Spurs were three goals behind, but he squandered a golden opportunity.
And it is fair to say journalist Alasdair Gold could not believe the 28-year-old had managed to miss from such close range.
He said: “The irony is Werner was quite bright when he came on. I thought Werner really ran at them and did cause them problems. But that was a horrendous miss. All he had to do was almost push it in and he tried to place it in. It was pretty dreadful.”
When the likes of Brennan Johnson has been in such fine form of late, misses like that really do not help Werner’s case.
Spurs are said to be looking to make improvements to their squad this summer, a big decision has to be made whether Werner does that.
The 28-year-old has a lot of experience in the Champions League already, but his miss against Fulham is borderline unacceptable.
