Tottenham Hotspur may be having a real rollercoaster of a season, but they’ve certainly been putting the effort into bringing young talents through.

Spurs’ pre-season saw numerous academy gems involved, such as Jamie Donley, Will Lankshear and Alfie Devine.

Tottenham have also signed some superb youngsters, with the likes of Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall and Wilson Odobert all arriving at N17 this summer.

Now, ESPN pundit Don Hutchison has named a Spurs youngster as his revelation of the Premier League season so far.

Hutchison also revealed that said player has been tipped by Tim Sherwood and Jermain Defoe as “the next one” to break through from the Tottenham academy.

Mikey Moore tipped to replace James Maddison in Tottenham starting XI next season

The player in question is Mikey Moore, who has already broken into the Spurs first-team at the age of 17.

Moore made waves in the academy and has been so impressive at first-team level that he wasn’t even loaned out this summer.

Instead, Ange Postecoglou kept Moore in the first-team, and he has made eight first-team appearances to date this term.

Hutchison even said the Tottenham gem is good enough to replace James Maddison, suggesting the Spurs boss may be looking to move the latter player on.

“Revelation to me is finding someone brand new,” Hutchison said on ESPN FC. “And I think Mikey Moore.

“I’ve worked on Tottenham’s European games this season, he’s played a few of them, he’s been outstanding.

“I’ve spoken to Tim Sherwood, Jermain Defoe – they reckon he’s the next one to come from their academy.

“I think Ange Postecoglou wants to move James Maddison on in the summer, and Mikey Moore can fill his shoes, I think he could be that good.

“So I think revelation is a young player, someone brand new – that’s why I’m going for Mikey Moore.”

What Postecoglou has in store for Moore

Speaking after the loss to Crystal Palace, Postecoglou said he will continue to keep handing Moore first-team opportunities and claims he will have learned a lot from that defeat.

“Like I said it, wasn’t really a great game for anybody out there from our perspective,” said Postecoglou.

“Mikey every time he’s out there he’ll be a better player and the more we can get him out there in the right sort of environment then he’ll keep thriving. I’m sure he’ll learn a lot today.”
