One of Tamworth FC’s stars has just sent a clear warning to Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero ahead of the two clubs meeting in the FA Cup third round.

Tamworth FC midfielder Tom Tonks has just fired a clear warning to Cristian Romero on X following the FA Cup third-round draw. The 33-year-old will be looking to exploit Spurs’ weakness on defending set pieces with his extraordinary long throw-in.
Tonks can throw the ball into the box similar to that of Stoke City’s Rory Delap. His ‘ridiculous’ long throw has become a serious threat for opposition teams. Tamworth stunned Huddersfield Town in the first round of the cup courtesy of an assist from a Tonks throw in.
Tottenham have struggled to defend set pieces this season and Tonks’ throw-ins could cause havoc for even a Premier League-level team. Postecoglou will need to be very wary of how he organises his team and this is where Tamworth could potentially cause an upset.

Tom Tonks discusses his ‘ridiculous’ long throw
Tonks has revealed that ever since Primary School he has had this ‘ridiculous’ ability to throw a football an incredibly long way. As mentioned, the veteran caused one of the biggest upsets of the season by assisting Tamowrth’s winner against Huddersfield with his throw.
Tonks told The Non League Treatment Room: “I really don’t know how or why. You’ve literally just got to pick it up and throw it. So my earliest of knowing I could do it was when I was in primary school I think it was six-a-side on small pitches and I threw one and I can remember my Head Teacher going, ‘Have you just kicked that ball?!’, ‘No, I just threw it’ and he said just do it again. So I did it again and ever since I was a little I’m now taking every throw in.”
