Tottenham Hotspur fans have been left concerned by one major factor following their FA Cup third-round draw away to Tamworth FC.
The Non-League club were rewarded for their FA Cup heroics with a massive tie at home to Spurs. Tamworth eliminated League One side Burton Albion in the second round to set up the mammoth cup tie.
After reaching the third round for just the fourth time in their history many club members gathered at the stadium to watch the draw. When they learned they were at home to the Premier League giants there were jubilant celebrations.

Tamworth FC were buzzing after being drawn out of the hat at home to Tottenham. They have only ever made it to this stage of the competition on four occasions in 2005–06, 2006–07, 2011–12 and now 2024–25.
To show the sheer contrast between the two clubs, Tamworth’s stadium, The Lamb Ground, holds a capacity of just 4,000 people, meanwhile, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium can host just over 62,000.
The difference in transfer records between the two clubs is quite incredible too, with Tottenham having spent £65 million on Dominic Solanke back in the summer, whereas Tamworth paid just £7,500 to Ilkeston Town to sign Tony Hemmings back in 2000.
This is a real David versus Goliath cup tie and the Tamowrth support were delighted when they discovered they would be welcoming Ange Postecoglou’s team to Staffordshire on the weekend commencing Friday, 10 January.
Tottenham’s worried by Tamworth’s 3G pitch
Tottenham supporters are deeply concerned by the fact that they will have to play on a 3G pitch which their players will not be at all used to. The Lamb Ground boasts a 3G pitch which will raise concerns over potential injuries.
Postecoglou’s squad has already been decimated by injuries this campaign and the last thing they will want is to be playing on such a surface. The 59-year-old will likely avoid playing many of his regulars and give game time to some of the club’s youngsters. After the draw, Spurs fans took to X to express their concerns over playing on a 3G pitch.
One supporter said: “Away tie at a non-league side in January? Bit of wind and rain probably. Second-string team, we’ll struggle to overcome them no doubt on a 3G pitch and get a few injuries at the same time.”
“Playing on a 3G pitch will end our season, wish we could have the game moved to our ground and just give them 100 percent of the profits,” added another supporter.
Another fan called for the game to be moved to North London: “Tamworth play on a 3G pitch. Just getting the excuses in early. Let’s switch it to the Lane.”
