Tottenham Hotspur striker Dominic Solanke has impressed in recent weeks and has now been praised by an England teammate.
A year on from Harry Kane’s departure, Tottenham Hotspur had to invest in a new striker.
There were links to Ivan Toney before his move to Saudi Arabia but Spurs decided to invest big money in Dominic Solanke instead.
Tottenham struck a potential club-record deal for Solanke, agreeing to pay up to £65million for the striker’s signature.
The early signs have been positive with Solanke registering three goals and two assists in his last four starts.
Solanke has now worked his way back into the England squad at the expense of the aforementioned Toney as his strong start with Tottenham is recognised.

Phil Foden on Dominic Solanke
Solanke will challenge Ollie Watkins and former Tottenham hero Harry Kane for minutes in this international break.
The 27-year-old faces major competition in attack but he has certainly earned his spot in Lee Carsley’s squad.
Solanke has now received praise from Manchester City star Phil Foden as they link up on international duty.
Foden and Angel Gomes took part in a game of Guess Who? on ITV Sport YouTube channel.
When asked to describe Solanke, Foden heaped praise on the Tottenham striker – and Gomes guessed his identity very quickly.
“Wow, how do I describe this guy?” said Foden.
“Scores goals, he’s quite silky on the ball, good hold-up play,” he added, believing that Gomes would have had more difficult guessing the player.
Foden clearly rates Solanke highly and the pair may well play together during upcoming games against Greece and Finland.

Solanke’s England wait
Solanke was a regular for England through the age groups.
All the way up from Under-16 to the Under-21 level, Solanke was a fixture for England and racked up 70 caps as well as 36 goals across those levels.
Senior caps have been difficult to come by though and Solanke still has just one senior cap to his name for the Three Lions.
Solanke came off the bench to make his England debut against Brazil way back in November 2017.
The striker has been through plenty of ups and downs since then but nearly seven years on, Solanke could finally earn his second cap for England.
Maybe the move to Tottenham has been the crucial factor, but Toney’s move to Saudi Arabia means his international career has been dented – and Solanke is ready to take advantage.
