Tottenham Hotspur were unable to get over the line and defeat Roma in Thursday’s Europa League encounter in North London.
Spurs twice took the lead in an enthralling game but were twice pegged back by the Italian side, their second goal coming in second-half stoppage time.
Son Heung-min opened the scoring for Tottenham from the penalty spot before Evan Ndicka equalised for Roma midway through the first half.
Spurs retook the lead on 33 minutes as Dejan Kulusevski crossed for Brennan Johnson to score a goal that reminded some fans of Raheem Sterling.
However, Tottenham conceded a very soft goal in the latter stages of the game as the unmarked Mats Hummels poked home from point-blank range.
Former Spurs players Peter Crouch and Paul Robinson were not impressed with Ange Postecoglou’s side and made their feelings known.

Tottenham looked like they ‘were waiting to concede’
Crouch, speaking on TNT Sports, said Tottenham dropped off in the second half and looked like they were simply waiting to concede.
“It will be very frustrating for Spurs,” he said, as transcribed by BBC Sport. “They were so good in the first half but they dropped off and dropped off in the second half.
“It was only a matter of time before Roma equalised. It looked like Tottenham were waiting to concede. Roma fully deserved the point in the end.”
Meanwhile, Robinson said on BBC Radio 5 Live: “Roma’s fans are taunting the Tottenham fans. It is the fundamental basics of defending for Tottenham.
“Spurs have only got themselves to blame. From the set-play it is about organisation and leadership.”
What Ange Postecoglou made of Tottenham display and late goal
Ange Postecoglou, speaking after the match, said: “We should have killed it off in the second half and at 2-1 you’re always keeping them in the game.
“Disappointed we didn’t see out the game but we’re still in a decent position.”
When asked about conceding another set-piece, Postecoglou replied: “I don’t know what to say to that.
“I think that’s the third set piece goal we’ve conceded from this season in about 20 games. I get it, but I don’t know know what to say. Let’s move on.”
