Tottenham had an enjoyable return to Premier League action over the weekend when they dismantled Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Spurs took hold of the game in the first half when a James Maddison brace gave his side a commanding lead by the break.

Ange Postecoglou’s side didn’t switch off, having already dropped points from a two-goal lead this season, with Pedro Porro grabbing a third and Brennan Johnson finishing it off with a fourth.

While Tottenham were busy celebrating all the goals, some thought that Porro didn’t celebrate against his former side, something he wanted to set straight.

Pedro Porro clears up Man City celebration claim

During the early years of his career, Porro spent time at Man City before a loan and eventually permanent switch to Sporting CP.

His impressive spell in Portugal led to the switch to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where he has been a standout option ever since.

Porro’s strike was his second goal of the season, which underlines his deadly ability when given a chance in the box.

Some fans were left perplexed when it appeared as though the right-back didn’t celebrate against his former team with his goal.

That wasn’t the case though as he did celebrate and even went to the lengths of replying to a fan accusing him of not doing so.

It’s clear how much the star has placed into making his way to Tottenham and his performances have backed that up.

Spurs will be hoping that he can continue to show that passion as well as find his way onto the scoresheet even more often.

Pedro Porro an important player for Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham

Tottenham have shown what they are truly capable of when they have every player fit and firing under Ange Postecoglou.

Even when they aren’t, like Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero against Man City, Porro has underlined just how key he is.

The full-backs play a specific role for the manager, getting high up the pitch and getting involved in the final third.
