Tottenham Hotspur and their London rivals Chelsea were both interested in signing Mohammed Kudus over the summer.
It was Tottenham who ultimately won the race for Kudus, who has made a great start to life in north London.
In his first three Premier League games for the club, he has registered two assists.
West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen hailed Kudus as a “special player” last year, a statement many would agree with. It is no surprise that both Spurs and Chelsea wanted him, but the winger had his heart set on a move to Thomas Frank’s side.

Mohammed Kudus felt he would get more game time at Tottenham
Heading into the summer, Chelsea already had a good batch of attackers and only added to it during the transfer window.
Understandably, Kudus believed that he would get more opportunities at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
As a result, according to The Athletic, the 25-year-old decided to join Spurs and gave him his word that he would sign for them.
While perhaps not as strong as what Chelsea had at their disposal, Tottenham also had their own attacking options.
One of those options, Manor Solomon, was not worried about his minutes despite Kudus’ arrival. However, the 26-year-old eventually left the club for Villarreal.

How many minutes has Mohammed Kudus played at Tottenham so far?
In terms of minutes under Frank, so far so good. The Ghana international has played in all four of Tottenham’s matches this season, including the UEFA Super Cup final, and has racked up 340 minutes in total, according to Transfermarkt.
Given all of the attacking options that Enzo Maresca has, that may not have happened at Chelsea.
All in all, Kudus will feel that his decision to join Tottenham is already starting to pay off. He now has the task of hurting one of Spurs and Chelsea’s London rivals West Ham, his former club whom Frank’s men take on this Saturday. Kudus can expect a frosty reception.
