Tottenham Hotspur came close to making it two wins in a row in all competitions when they faced Roma, only to suffer late heartbreak on Thursday night.
Tottenham opened the scoring in the Europa League match through Son Heung-min’s penalty after Mats Hummels brought Pape Matar Sarr down in the Roma box.
However, the visitors drew level in the 20th minute as Evan Ndicka beat Fraser Forster following Paulo Dybala’s free-kick into the Spurs box.
Spurs then retook the lead on 33 minutes as Dejan Kulusevski crossed for Brennan Johnson to score a goal that some fans said was Raheem Sterling-like.
Tottenham took their 2-1 lead into stoppage time, only for Hummels to be left unmarked and allowed to strike from close range for a share of the spoils.
Despite the disappointing result for Spurs, some of their players did really well, with Fraser Forster earning praise from the Italian media.
Kulusevski also did well on the night, with numerous Italian outlets making the same point about the Swede.

Italian press hails ‘devastating’ Tottenham star Dejan Kulusevski
Tuttomercatoweb said of the Swede: “Successful experiment as a midfielder, he makes the most of his abilities through the middle.
“He provides assists, hits the post: simply devastating.”
Meanwhile, Eurosport.it wrote: “With the ball at his feet he is almost uncatchable.
“He hits the post, provides a perfect assist, and even comes close to scoring with his right foot.”
Virgilio.it even said that “when he accelerates, it’s painful” for the opposition.
“Hummels timidly tries to counter him, but the difference in pace between the two is abysmal,” they added.
“The result is that the ex-Juve player gets past the German and serves up a superb cross for Johnson.”
What Kulusevski has said about Postecoglou
Kulusevski recently said he is a big fan of Postecoglou and is loving how the 59-year-old sets his team up to be so attacking – but he admitted there is a need to improve.
Kulusevski told Sky Sports: “It’s been very nice to get to know him. I think he’s a very good man and a very good coach.
“I have learned a lot from him and I agree with his playing style. That’s the way I want to play, very aggressive and always the same.
“But of course, we have to improve. What we are doing is not enough.
“We can see progress in our football but we want to win something this year and we have to see results too.”
