Brennan Johnson has named three players that he can’t wait to team up with following his move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Speaking to SPURSPLAY, the Welshman was asked which teammate he was most excited about playing with.

Johnson was unable to pick only one player and instead named fellow summer signing James Maddison, as well as Yves Bissouma and Heung-min Son.

Tottenham decided not to go with a direct replacement for Harry Kane when they swooped in for Johnson, snapping him up in a £47.5 million deal from Nottingham Forest on transfer deadline day.

The forward arrives on North London after netting eight goals and providing three assists in the Premier League last season.

Johnson could make his debut next weekend as Spurs host Sheffield United as they look to make it a fourth successive victory in the top flight.

Ange Postecoglou’s side have been performing brilliantly as of late and Johnson has shared his excitement at linking up with some of the club’s best talents.

Brennan Johnson ‘can’t wait’ to play with this Tottenham trio

Speaking to SPURSPLAY, he said: “Oh that’s a tough question. To be honest, watching the games, there’s so many players that I’m looking forward to playing with. Obviously, all the attacking players, just the whole team to be honest. I can’t wait to get going.

“I think James Maddison, watching him play, the balls he’s been putting in. Yves Bissouma, obviously Son as well. Just all of them to be honest. I’m loving it.”

Postecoglou has been left with some brilliant attacking options following Johnson’s arrival, while it remains unclear how he will fit everyone in.

Richarlison has so far claimed his spot in place of Kane up top, however the Brazilian will have a lot of work to do if he is to keep Johnson out of the starting line-up.

Johnson performed excellently alongside Morgan Gibbs-White last season and there is no doubt that he will benefit massively from sitting in front of Maddison.

Tottenham’s frontline is looking more and more threatening and it is a very exciting time to support the club – even without Kane.
