Tottenham Hotspur new-boy Brennan Johnson has already made a comment about the upcoming North London Derby.

Johnson has been speaking to Spurs Play after signing for Tottenham on deadline day last week.

The Welshman completed a £47.5 million switch to Spurs from Nottingham Forest after emerging as Ange Postecoglou’s top attacking target.

Johnson had already made four appearances for Forest this season and one came against Arsenal at the Emirates on the opening day.

And it seems that the 22-year-old is looking forward to playing against Mikel Arteta’s side once again, only this time for their bitter rivals.

Speaking to Spurs Play, Johnson was being shown around his new dressing room at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The new signing then went on to speak about his excitement for the upcoming clash against Arsenal.

He said: “The derby – it’s coming up as well. That’s one that will be surreal to me because it’s not a long time, I feel like it’ll feel crazy. I’m ready for it.”

Of course, Spurs are set to host Sheffield United after the international break next weekend.

But Postecoglou and his players will undoubtedly have one eye on the short trip to the Emirates the following weekend.

It’s the biggest fixture of the year and Spurs are long overdue a win away from home in the derby, with their last in the Premier League coming back in 2010.

It’s brilliant to hear Johnson commenting on the North London Derby already and it’s clear he’s aware of the significance of the fixture.

Spurs fell to defeat against Arsenal twice last season and will be aiming to get one back over their rivals this time around.
