Tottenham return to European action this Thursday as they face off against AZ Alkmaar.

Fresh from their impressive 4-1 win against West Ham, Ange Postecoglou’s side will be looking to carry on that fine form against the Eredivisie outfit.

Spurs have picked up two wins from two in the newly formed Europa League and another three points would move them a step closer to the knockout rounds.

Having recently reached the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League in 2023, AZ Alkmaar will undoubtedly provide Tottenham with a tough task.

Postecoglou though has not been afraid to alter his side in Europe, with Spurs academy stars Will Lankshear and Mikey Moore earning their first senior starts against Fercenvaros.

The Tottenham youngsters could again feature against the Dutch side, with many Spurs supporters eagerly awaiting another Moore cameo.

Ange Postecoglou could hand Mikey Moore another European start

Spurs fans have been crying out for Moore to receive more minutes all season and Postecoglou would ultimately grant their wish on matchday two as the 17-year-old lined up on the right wing against Fercenvaros.

Moore provided Tottenham fans with a ‘thrilling’ performance against the Hungarian champions and the highly rated youngster could be in for another start against AZ Alkmaar.

Heung-min Son returned from injury with a bang against West Ham but Postecoglou won’t want to overload the Spurs skipper straight away – potentially leaving a spot for Moore in the forward line.

Moore could potentially be joined in the forward line by Richarlison, who recently returned from injury to make a substitute cameo against West Ham. Whether Postecoglou will want to risk the Brazilian so early, is another question though.

In midfield, Rodrigo Bentancur may replace Yves Bissouma in the number six role, meanwhile, Lucas Bergvall could be handed more minutes in the center of the park.

Radu Dragusin will likely return to the Spurs backline after sitting out the Fercenvaros with suspension.
