Fraser Forster produced a strong performance against Fulham to ensure that Tottenham Hotspur took at least a point against Fulham.

Spurs limped to a 1-1 draw at home to 10-man Fulham as injuries took their toll on Ange Postecoglou’s team who looked well off the pace. The Lilywhites looked so sluggish for 90 minutes as they failed to win yet again following a Europa League midweek match.

Guglielmo Vicario was one of the players missing with a fractured ankle which he suffered in the win at the Etihad Stadium. Forster is now set for an extended run in the team and he following up an impressive display against Roma with another at home to Fulham.

Fraser Forster explains why he will keep improving

Fraser Forster has explained that having a run in the Tottenham team will help him to keep improving. The goalkeeper admitted he has had a difficult 18 months having hardly played and having had various injury issues.

But now the 36-year-old is finally getting his chance to play regularly after Guglielmo Vicario fractured his ankle against Man City. Vicario could miss a few months with the ankle injury and Postecoglou is expected to put his trust in Forster.

Forster told SpursOfficial: “If I look back on the last year and a bit I’ve missed both pre-seasons through different issues, including a broken foot. It’s always hard when you miss pre-season so to get whatever games in you can is important.

“Like I said, it’s always hard if you come in for one game and then wait a few weeks [to play again]. But if you can put a run of games together if it’s goalkeeper or whatever position I think you just grow and grow in that position, so that’s been crucial for me.”
