A number of Tottenham stars will represent their countries during the international break, here is all you need to know.
Fresh from their disappointing 2-1 loss to Newcastle, the international break has arguably come at a good time for Ange Postecoglou’s side.
Spurs sit on four points after three games following two frustrating displays against Leicester and the Magpies, which saw the Lilywhites fail to finish their opponents off.
Tottenham’s current inability to take advantage of their dominance is something Postecoglou will be pondering over the break and it is something the Aussie will want to rectify quickly, as Spurs return to Premier League football with a huge NLD clash at home to Arsenal.
The Spurs boss will also be hoping none of his first-team squad pick up any injuries over the international break as many Tottenham stars jet off to play for their country.
With that being said, which Spurs players are leaving Hotspur Way on international duty? You can find out here on The Spurs News.
Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Bergvall – Sweden

Nations League
- Azerbaijan (Thursday, September 5)
- Estonia (Sunday, September 8)
One of the highlights of the international break so far has been the news that Dejan Kulusevski will be given the Sweden captaincy for the games against Azerbaijan and Estonia.
The Tottenham attacker is set to wear the armband for the first time following the absence of current skipper Victor Lindelof.
Kulusevksi will be joined in the Sweden squad by Spurs newbie Lucas Bergvall, who received his first cap back in January, in a friendly against Estonia.
Guglielmo Vicario and Destiny Udogie – Italy

Nations League
- France (Friday, September 6)
- Israel (Monday, September 9)
Having missed Italy’s Euro 2024 campaign due to injury, Destiny Udogie returns to international duty for the Azzurri’s Nations League fixtures.
The left-back will be joined by Spurs shot-stopper Guglielmo Vicario, who continues on his quest to displace current Italy number-one Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Radu Dragusin – Romania

Nations League
- Kosovo (Friday, September 6)
- Lithuania (Monday, September 9)
Having played a key role in Romania’s run to the last 16 of Euro 2024, Radu Dragusin returns to international duty to lead his country’s backline.
Despite the result, Dragusin impressed against Newcastle and will be looking to carry that form into the international break as Romania face off in Group C2 of the Nations League.
Ben Davies and Brennan Johnson – Wales

Nations League
- Turkey (Friday, September 6)
- Montenegro (Monday, September 9)
Both Ben Davies and Brennan Johnson are set to feature under new Wales boss Craig Bellamy.
Davies will likely receive his first minutes of the season against Turkey and Montenegro having failed to feature for Spurs so far. Johnson meanwhile impressed off the bench at St James Park, so the winger will be looking to build upon that 45-minute cameo during the international break.
Cristian Romero – Argentina

World Cup Qualifiers
- Chile (Friday, September 6)
- Colombia (Tuesday, September 10)
Cristian Romero enjoyed a summer of success with Argentina as La Abiceleste secured back-to-back Copa America crowns.
The defender however has failed to carry that fine form into the Premier League season, with the Spurs man struggling so far – shown by his mistakes against Leicester and Newcastle.
Pape Matar Sarr – Senegal

AFCON Qualifiers
- Burkina Faso (Friday, September 6)
- Burundi (Monday, September 9)
Pape Matar Sarr returns to international duty as Senegal continue on their quest to regain their AFCON crown, following their triumph in 2021.
Heung-min Son and Yang Min-Hyeok – South Korea

World Cup Qualifiers
- Palestine (Thursday, September 5)
- Burundi (Tuesday, September 10)
National hero Heung-min Son will be joined in the South Korea squad by new Spurs signing Yang Min-Hyeok, who is set to receive his first international call-up.
The youngster is set to join up with the Lilywhites in 2025 and Jesse Lingard recently revealed he will help Yang Min-Hyeok adapt to English life following his Tottenham move.
Youth team call-ups
- Wilson Odobert – France U21
- Archie Gray – England U21
