One of the main positives that emerged from Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-season was just how many top academy talents are coming through the ranks at N17.
The likes of Mikey Moore, Will Lankshear, Jamie Donley and Alfie Devine all look they have bright futures at Spurs.
Moore is set to be in the first-team picture at Tottenham this season, while the likes of Lankshear and Devine could go out on loan, like Donley has done.
However, Spurs are currently sweating on Lankshear’s fitness, as he suffered an apparent hamstring injury on Tuesday night.
The 19-year-old scored a superb goal for Tottenham Under-21s in their EFL Trophy meeting with Bristol Rovers in midweek.
However, Lankshear had to come off just before the end of normal time, the player subsequently going for scans to determine the extent of the issue.
Alasdair Gold has now provided an update on when Tottenham should find out the results of those scans.

Will Lankshear scan results should be available on Thursday
The Spurs insider wrote in his latest Spurs Q&A on football.london: “First up, Will needs to recover from a hamstring injury suffered in the Trophy match on Tuesday night.
“I think the results of the scans on that should be available today (Thursday 22 August). Hopefully it’s nothing bad but we’ll find out.”
Gold also explained that Tottenham may have in store for Lankshear this season in terms of game time, squad role and potential loans.
“I think there’s the potential for Will to get minutes in the Europa League and Carabao Cup in the next couple of months before making a decision in January about a loan move,” said Gold.
“I know Spurs have been telling clubs so far this summer that he’s not heading out.
“We’ll see if there’s any shift late in the window but it makes sense to continue his integration with the squad while playing U21s games at times after just breaking into the first team group.”
Lankshear a Kane-like talent
Tottenham are currently short of cover up front, with Alejo Veliz having linked up with Espanyol and Dane Scarlett joining Oxford United on loan.
With that in mind, it makes sense for Lankshear to stay put for the rest of the year, particularly with the Europa League group games likely to challenge Spurs’ strength in depth.
Lankshear is an exciting striker who has even earned comparisons to Harry Kane in terms of his style of play and how he positions himself to fire at goal.
It’ll be good to see how he continues to develop at Hotspur Way over the coming months.
