One Tottenham Hotspur midfielder is ‘looking for options’ now with a January move looking more and more likely on the cards.

If you’d had looked at the Tottenham midfield last season, you’d have probably singled out one stand-out performer – Pierre Emile Hojbjerg.

The Danish midfielder was a prominent figure in Antonio Conte’s side, but during the 23/24 campaign has fallen out of favour under Ange Postecoglou.

This led to speculation in the summer that a move would formulate, but it never happened. However – now as a contract ‘comes to an end’, he’s exploring options which could see him obtain a move in January.

Hojberg and his agent part ways

Thanks to an exclusive from the ever-reliable Fabrizio Romano – who has confirmed the 28-year-old and his agent have parted ways, and now he’ll be looking at other avenues in the near future.

Romano states: ‘Pierre Emile Højbjerg’s contract with his agent has come to an end.’

‘The Tottenham midfielder is now looking for scenarios/options going forward. January market, an option for the Danish midfielder.’

The agent did try valiantly to get him a move in the summer, but the clubs that went in for him didn’t pique the midfielder’s interest.

There was also speculation Manchester United may bite – but they opted for Fiorientina’s Sofyan Amrabat instead.

A January sale looking increasingly likely…

It’s pretty clear that Postecoglou doesn’t have Hojbjerg in his plans, so the midfielder, rightly so, will seek options elsewhere

Hojbjerg has been a great servant for the club, but we think the gaffer has it spot on this season playing Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr.

It’s definitely best to cash in on him whilst we can. Let’s see what materialises in the coming months.
