What a Saturday it was for Ange Postecoglou and his Tottenham Hotspur side. They picked apart Premier League champions Manchester City in their own backyard.
Tottenham had many good performers against the Cityzens. The likes of James Maddison excelled for Spurs, but there weren’t many bad players on the day. The Lilywhites were in a simply inspired mood.
The victory saw the visitors demolish a Man City side for the second time this season, meaning Tottenham are now Pep Guardiola’s most feared opponent ever.
Postecoglou will be a delighted man with his squad – they all played their hearts out, but Dejan Kulusevski does deserve a special mention. He was the main man at the Etihad. Or should we say Dekihad.
Dejan Kulusevski praised by Pedro Porro
The Swedish midfielder’s fine performance was highlighted by some of his Tottenham Hotspur teammates, including Pedro Porro, who was also on the scoresheet on Saturday evening.
Kulusevski took to Instagram after the win to showcase his delight with the victory. He posted an image with Porro celebrating one of the four strikes, accompanied with the caption, ‘the truth ’bout to get loud’.
The Spaniard accompanying the Swede took it upon himself to respond, Porro said: ‘What a player Dejan’.
Tottenham players and Ryan Sessegnon also laud Kulusevksi
Alongside Porro, some familiar faces around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium were also quick to praise Kulusevski.
Ryan Sessegnon agreed with Porro’s sentiment, whilst Destiny Udogie commented with a magician’s hat.
Kulusevski is slowly turning into not just one of the Premier League’s best players, but one of the best in the world.
Tottenham have an absolute gem on their hands, but it won’t be long til some of Europe’s elite are sniffing around the 24-year-old’s signature.
