Tottenham were 2-0 up at halftime against Brighton on Sunday but a second-half collapse led to an extremely disappointing 3-2 defeat to the Seagulls.
Spurs were superb in the opening 45 minutes and anything other than a convincing victory seemed impossible.
But Brighton were a completely different team immediately after the break and put Ange Postecoglou’s side on the back foot.
Indeed, former Arsenal and Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck completed the comeback within 21 minutes of the game restarting.
Dimitar Berbatov was asked his thoughts on Tottenham’s performance and he was brutally honest.

Dimitar Berbatov’s harsh criticism of Tottenham
One of the most technically gifted players in Premier League history, Berbatov scored 46 goals in 102 appearances for Tottenham between 2006 and 2008.
He now works as a pundit sometimes and was in attendance for Spurs’ 3-2 defeat against Brighton.
“Honestly, I’m lost for words at the second part of the game,” he said on Sky Sports. “You can see the expression on Ange’s face and all of our faces, people who support Spurs.
“It was totally different in the second half. It was not Spurs. And that’s why I’m curious to know what [Fabian Hurzeler] said at halftime to his team because it obviously made a difference.
“It was like watching Barcelona in their prime in the second half. Everything they did, they did better than Spurs.
“What did I say before the start of the game? The consistency, if they don’t find it, they’re going to suffer.”
The good news for Spurs is that they can regroup over the international break, with their next match at home to West Ham on October 19.
Is Ange Postecoglou under pressure at Tottenham?
Postecoglou came under some pressure after consecutive Premier League defeats – to Newcastle and Arsenal – but proved the doubters wrong with convincing wins over Brentford and Man Utd.
But the collapse against Brighton could raise eyebrows again as Tottenham’s inability to control games proved costly once more.
In reality, Postecoglou is at no risk of losing his job anytime soon but many Spurs supporters will be concerned that winning trophies with his frantic style of play seems unlikely.
