It has been a memorable week for Tottenham wonderkid Luca Williams-Barnett, making his senior debut in the Carabao Cup. He was then back with the Spurs Under-21s side on Friday night to help them continue their excellent start to the season.
There is excitement within the fanbase that the Tottenham academy may have produced another young gem.
Luca Williams-Barnett, who is only 16, is the rising star to watch out for. The Spurs attacking midfielder looks mature beyond his years and has made an excellent start to the new season.
On Wednesday night, Williams-Barnett made his senior debut for Spurs with a late appearance in their 3-0 home win against Doncaster Rovers in the Carabao Cup.

Luca Williams-Barnett impresses in Tottenham Under-21s win
On Friday night, the Spurs U21s beat West Brom’s U21s in a tight 1-0 win in the Premier League 2 fixture. Incidentally, it’s now four wins out of five in the league for Wayne Burnett’s young team this season.
Spurs defender Junai Byfield scored the decisive goal to clinch three points in the first half.
However, Williams-Barnett was at the heart of his side’s work, particularly at the top end of the pitch. The 16-year-old attacking midfielder is so well suited to the number 10 position with his overall game.
| Minutes played | Total shots | Chances created | Accurate passes | Touches | Ground duels won | Match rating |
| 82 | 3 | 4 | 23/35 (60%) | 54 | 7/9 (78%) | 8.0 |
Williams-Barnett, who scored a hat-trick for the U21s earlier this campaign, looks instrumental to his side right now. At his age, Spurs fans are right to dream they may have unlocked something special.

Will Luca Williams-Barnett get more senior minutes?
There is certainly no rush for Williams-Barnett to be forced into the first-team squad because he’s got so much time on his side.
We trust Spurs boss Thomas Frank will pick and choose moments for the teenage rising star to be involved, whether that’s in training or on an actual match day.
Next in the Carabao Cup, Spurs travel to St James’ Park to face current holders Newcastle United. On paper, that is not the type of game against top Premier League opposition to throw Williams-Barnett into the mix again.
But if Williams-Barnett continues to star for the U21s, he will do his chances of more senior involvement no harm.
