Tottenham have confirmed a deal for promising youngster Yang Min-Hyeok, adding plenty more options for the future.

The 18-year-old will join from K-League outfit Gangwon FC, signing a long-term contract that will last until 2030.

Yang will spend the remainder of the campaign with Gangwon until he joins up with Spurs in January 2025.

The winger, who has represented South Korea at youth international level, becomes the latest wonderkid to join the Lilywhites.

Ange Postecoglou has already seen Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray join the squad, with the Tottenham duo showing plenty of potential for the future.

Adding Yang into the mix and the future appears to be bright for Spurs.

Yang Min-Hyeok on Tottenham transfer

With a deal now confirmed, Tottenham have sat down to discuss the move with Yang before he officially joins the club next year.

Speaking on the official YouTube channel, he said: “First of all, joining such a big club is an honour. I will try my best to show my best.

“My still is very aggressive, I’m good with one-on-ones and quite fast, I also have good finishing skills.”

On moving to another country, he added: “I’m moving abroad so adapting is important.

“There is Sonny [Heung-Min Son] who will be a big help for my adapting process since we are both Korean.

“Sonny is the captain of Korea and I would say he had a big influence on my decision.

“I feel like I am dreaming. So far I haven’t spoken with Sonny but I already know I can learn a lot from him just by talking with him in the team.”

Tottenham transfer policy

There has been a clear shift this summer at Tottenham to focus on building a squad that will be ready for the future.

Within the academy ranks there are stars like Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear that could be ready for the step up in the next few years.

Beyond them, the external signings of Bergvall, Gray and now Yang have seen them strengthen for the future.

It remains to be seen if that strategy will work, given the challenges of helping youngsters thrive in a high-pressure environment.

However, if it pays off, Spurs could be back amongst the teams at the very top of the Premier League for years to come.
