At this stage, Barcelona are not focused on signing Simons, given the fact that he would cost at least £40 million in the summer.
Romano told his YouTube channel: “Can Xavi Simons go to Barcelona? Many reports about Barcelona. Obviously, it was not an easy season for Xavi Simons at Tottenham, but I think in some moments it’s been a complicated situation for everyone at Tottenham.
“I also believe that in some moments, for example, in the Champions League, you can see the clear quality of Xavi Simons.

“So there are clubs still very interested in Xavi Simons, who is still very young. But at the moment, on the exit of Xavi Simons from Tottenham, I don’t have any information, any guaranteed information.”

Xavi Simons ‘dreams’ of returning to Barcelona
Simons is ‘dreaming’ of returning to Barcelona in the future, having spent several years at the club’s famed academy, La Masia.
“I think we’ll always be there when it’s time to speak about Xavi Simons. Why? Xavi Simons was a player at the Barcelona Academy at La Masia,” added Romano.
“Xavi Simons, I also told you last summer, before he made it, he made his move to Premier League football. I told you one day Xavi Simons dreams of playing for Barcelona.
“It’s the player’s dream one day to wear a Barca shirt. But at the moment, there is zero ongoing between Barcelona and Xavi Simons. Barca are focused on different things.”
Should Spurs remain in the Premier League, the North London club likely look to keep Simons and build around him.
