The 29-year-old is understood to be available for £21m due to the release clause in his Inter contract, which could prove to be a real steal given his experience and quality.

Tottenham have reportedly been among the clubs approached as Dumfries’ camp explores possible exits from Inter before the start of next season.

Tottenham offered the chance to sign Denzel Dumfries

Tottenham Hotspur have been offered the chance to sign Inter Milan wing-back Denzel Dumfries, according to TEAMTalk.

Dumfries’ entourage are looking at a possible exit from the Serie A this summer, and a move to the Premier League could be on the cards.

The defender will be available for a great price at £21m, although Inter have already started work on offering him a new deal.

Inter do not want to lose the talented Dutch international, who has proven himself to be one of the best defenders in Europe over recent seasons.

Dumfries has played a key role in helping Inter win one Scudetto title, two Coppa Italia titles and reach two Champions League finals.

But after five seasons in Italy, the defender could now be on the move, and Spurs are one of the clubs that have been made aware of his situation.

Johan Lange has been targeting more experienced players at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Conor Gallagher and Andy Robertson both key targets in January.

Xavi Simons and Micky van de Ven would surely love the arrival of their fellow countryman, whom they will both know well from their time with the Netherlands.

Tottenham need to convince Van de Ven to stay in North London, and signing a player like Dumfries could significantly boost their chances of doing so.

The issue with Dumfries is that he is very much a wing-back and would struggle to play as a transitional full-back in a back four system.

New manager Roberto De Zerbi is expected to play a 4-2-3-1; however, the Italian manager can also play three at the back, with wing-backs.
