Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of a new midfielder has been no secret this summer.

Strong interest in the likes of Conor Gallagher and Jacob Ramsey has attracted much media attention but ultimately came to nothing, leaving Spurs fans frustrated ahead of the 2024/25 season.

The Lilywhites however have now seemingly turned their attention to Reims youngster Amir Richardson, that is according to Foot Mercato who state Tottenham have been closely watching the youngster at this summer’s Olympics.

Amir Richardson is currently 22-years-old at the time of writing, having been born on January 24, 2002.

He was born in Nice, France and he played for the French under 20’s before pledging his allegiance to Morroco.

Amir is the son of former American basketball player Michael Ray Richardson, the four-time NBA All-Star who featured for the likes of the New York Knicks and Golden State Warriors.

His Moroccan descent comes from his mother, who was born in Fez, the second largest city in Morroco.

According to French publication L’Equipe, Tottenham are not the only English club eyeing the midfielder with Everton and Leicester City also reportedly interested.

The report however states both the Toffees and Foxes refused to meet the £8.5m asking price back in July.

Richardson’s valuation is now likely to increase following his Olympic exploits, which will test how much Spurs are willing to pay for the 22-year-old.
