The latest player looking to add themselves onto that esteemed list, is none other than Tottenham teenager Archie Gray.

Following an impressive spell with his boyhood club Leeds United, Gray was signed by Spurs for £40m becoming one of Tottenham’s most expensive signings ever.

The youngster is now expected to become an important figure in North London, with his undoubted talent clear to see.

Archie Gray is 18-years-old, having been on 12 March, 2006. Gray was born in Durham and spent most of his childhood growing up in North Yorkshire.

Gray stands at 6ft 1 inches tall, making him an imposing figure despite his young age.

Gray comes from a long line of footballers with his father, grandad, and great uncle, all having played the game at the top-level. His father, Andy Gray, was a striker who played for the likes of Leeds United, Sunderland and Burnley.

His grandad, Frank Gray, made over 300 appearances for Leeds United during the 1970’s and 1980’s. His great-uncle also played for Leeds, featuring over 450 times for them between 1966-1983.

Archie Gray is a very technically gifted player, able to keep possession under pressure and progress the ball. The youngster’s first intent when receiving the ball, is to play it forward – something perfectly in-tune with Ange Postecoglou‘s style of football.

Gray’s very young age means there of course areas to improve on, but the early indictors suggest he has a very bright future in the game.
