The Lilywhites have been heavily linked with a potential move for the 24-year-old as his contract situation rumbles on at Stamford Bridge.

According to the Daily Mail, Gallagher is yet to even consider a move away from Chelsea as he hopes to fight for his place at the club.

Talks have held place between the two parties, but there is yet to be a resolution found as Gallagher hopes to stay at Chelsea.

The 24-year-old is set to enter the final 12 months of his contract this summer as the Blues look unwilling to pay him more than £150k-per-week.

Mauricio Pochettino has even hailed the midfielder as ‘unbelievable‘ for the commitment he has shown.

In the meantime, Tottenham sit patiently and monitor the situation as they eye a move for the £50m-rated midfielder.

Tottenham interested in Gallagher

With Gallagher said to be a player of interest ahead of the summer window, it seems Ange Postecoglou is keen to add to his midfield.

The future of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg looks uncertain going into the summer with reports claiming he is set to leave north London.

Spurs have a fairly strong midfield cohort with the likes of Yves Bissouma, Pape Matar Sarr, Rodrigo Bentancur and James Maddison all looking like solid options for the foreseeable.

But the prospect of European football will mean Spurs will likely have an eye on building their depth in key areas.

And Postecoglou’s midfield options were certainly tested earlier in the season with injuries and suspensions riddling the squad.
