Tottenham Hotspur could be saying goodbye to one of their more experienced midfielders this summer if Ange Postecoglou remains at the helm.

It has been an exciting start to the Postecoglou-era in north London. Champions League qualification looks a real possibility and the football on show is exciting.

However, it appears not all of the players are enjoying the experience with one expected to depart in the summer whilst the Australian is in charge.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg set to leave Tottenham

As per a report from il Bianco Nero, Juventus have Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg on their radar ahead of the summer transfer market.

The report also suggests Hojbjerg is ‘certain’ to leave the north London club unless something is to change in the managerial department.

Hojbjerg’s lack of first team football is clearly the issue here as the report hints towards the Dane wanting to play more regularly.

Hojbjerg not fancied by Ange Postecoglou

Having been a mainstay in the Spurs starting XI since he arrived back in 2020, the arrival of Postecoglou saw the Dane’s role dramatically reduced.

Although the 28-year-old has featured 22 times in the Premier League alone for Spurs this term, it is worth noting that just six of those have come from the starting XI.

And that number would perhaps have been even smaller had we not endured a midfield injury crisis.

Hojbjerg has received high praise in recent years with former player and now pundit Noel Whelan hailing him as ‘invaluable‘ to the Lilywhites.

He has certainly played a big role in recent years having chalked up an impressive 170 appearances for the club already.

But can only be expected a player of his age would not be too pleased with his sudden lack of game time, especially heading into a major international tournament in the summer.
