Tottenham are apparently one of multiple Premier League clubs who are interested in signing Celtic star Matt O’Riley.

The latest reports from TEAMtalk suggest that Tottenham, as well as West Ham, Brentford and Brighton are all keen on signing the player.

Apparently Tottenham have been ‘keeping tabs on his progression’ and the club are very keen to strengthen their squad

Matt O’Riley is a central midfielder, who manager Ange Postecoglou knows well as he managed the 22 year-old was in charge of Celtic.

Tottenham interested in Matt O’Riley

Despite still being quite young, the midfielder has managed to become a key player at the current Scottish Premiership leaders.

At Celtic, he has managed 86 appearances in all competitions, scoring 14 goals and picking up 20 assists. Six of these goals and five of these assists have come in his 14 appearances this season.

He has been impressing, and recently showed that he can excel on the big stage as he picked up the Player of the Match award after Celtic’s draw with Atletico Madrid in the Champions League in late October.

There is no doubting that O’Riley is an ‘outstanding‘ player and with him only 22 years-old, there is no doubting that he has a very high ceiling.

He would be a great addition to the Spurs squad and add some much-needed squad depth to a team who are surprising many by battling at the top of the league. Reports have also linked Spurs with Santiago Gimenez.

It is an exciting time to be a Spurs fan at the moment but they can not get too complacent. The fact that they are already looking for more signings emphasises that they are not and instead are looking to build on their momentum.
