Tottenham have joined the race to sign Robin Risser after an internal decision was made to move on from Guglielmo Vicario.
The goalkeeper situation has intensified this season after another drab showing domestically has thrust Spurs into a shocking relegation battle.
How many points will Tottenham take from their next four Premier League matches?
Vicario has hardly been a safe pair of hands since arriving at the football club, and Tottenham are now monitoring Risser as someone who will make more of an impact between the posts.
The Italian stopper has been prone to a high-profile error since checking in from Empoli in 2023, and now it looks as though his days at Tottenham could be numbered.

Tottenham want Robin Risser
According to Team Talk, Tottenham have identified Lens goalkeeper Robin Risser as the man to come into the club and replace Vicario.
Risser has enjoyed a meteoric rise this season in Ligue 1, with the club currently in contention to challenge for the title during the closing stages of the season.
There are claims that Risser could even be in contention to make the France squad for the World Cup in the summer, and he has a host of admirers right now.
Risser is also being looked at by Newcastle, whilst Tottenham do have some other names on their shortlist of options to replace Vicario next season.
Risser performing similarly to Vicario this season
Tottenham fans might be itching for a new goalkeeper, but Who Scored shows that at the moment, Risser averages as many saves per game as Vicario.
In truth, this could be flawed to a certain degree, with Risser less active in games than Vicario and perhaps the Tottenham man could be doing more.
Risser is only 21 too and signing him would ensure Spurs have a goalkeeper tied down ahead of his best years, and he could become the club’s number one for a number of years.
The talented youngster is unlikely to cost Spurs a fortune in the grand scheme of things and it would be interesting to see if he does rock up in the Premier League this summer.
