Tottenham Hotspur are expected to enter the race to sign Marcos Senesi when he becomes available on a free transfer next summer.

The 28-year-old has been one of the best defenders in the Premier League this season, really impressing under Andoni Iraola.

Cristian Romero is already rather familiar with Senesi, having played with him at youth and senior levels for Argentina.

Tottenham could soon be about to lose two central defenders in Radu Dragusin and Micky van de Ven, who have both been linked with moves away.

Spurs have Luka Vuskovic arriving next summer, but other defensive options are now being considered ahead of next summer.

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to enter the race to sign Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi next summer, according to Ben Jacobs.

The defender’s contract with Bournemouth expires next summer, and he is set to be highly sought after around Europe.

Juventus and Chelsea are two of the clubs keeping a close eye on his situation, and Spurs will likely need to rival them both to sign the Argentine.

Speaking about the defender, Jacobs told Last Word On Spurs: “From Tottenham’s perspective, there are a few defenders that they quite like.

“One is Marcos Senesi, and I would expect Tottenham to be in that conversation when he becomes a free agent during the summer.

“Of course, there’ll be other clubs. Juventus are one of them. Chelsea might go down that route if Jeremy Jacquet doesn’t arrive. So that’s a name to keep an eye on.”

Tottenham could lose Van de Ven at some stage, so lining up a player like Senesi, in addition to the return of Vuskovic, could be a great option.

Tottenham keeping close eye on Jacobo Ramon

Tottenham are also keeping a very close eye on Como defender Jacobo Ramon, Jacobs added.

The 21-year-old is a very highly rated Spanish defender who has been impressing in Serie A this season.

The issue with this deal is that Real Madrid, like with Nico Paz, have a buy-back option, which could scupper a deal for Spurs.
