Tottenham Hotspur have made a slow start to the summer transfer window with Archie Gray, Timo Werner and Min-Hyuk Yang the only new arrivals.

Following a strong debut campaign under Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham fans will have been hoping to kick on with some big new additions made over the summer.

However, a month and a half into the window, Archie Gray and Min-Hyuk Yang are the only fresh faces to have arrived through the door at Hotspur Way.

Timo Werner’s loan move was also extended for another season but it is clear that more is needed should Spurs be hoping to improve on last season’s fifth-place finish.

The club’s supporters have now been told by a Tottenham journalist when they can expect Spurs’ business to accelerate.

Tottenham expected to accelerate transfers once back from Asia

According to George Sessions, Tottenham are expected to step up their pursuit of new arrivals once they return from their pre-season tour of Asia in a weeks time.

The North London club have two more matches in South Korea before they are due back in the UK around August 4.

Postecglou’s squad take on K-League XI before a big clash with FC Bayern Munich on August 3 with both matches taking place in Seoul.

Spurs fans will get a chance to see their new signing Min-Hyuk Yang who is expected to join the club in January 2025.

Currently, with other clubs also on pre-season tours and players still away after international tournaments, potential incoming signings have been delayed.

Postecoglou recently called for patience over new arrivals stating that the club are sticking to their original targets and will not be deterred by being made to wait for them.

Tottenham need reinforcement but should not block academy stars

Tottenham are in desperate need of new signings but must also be conscience of not blocking the pathway to their academy stars.

Spurs took several talented academy players on tour and the youngsters have certainly made an impression this pre-season.

16-year-old Mikey Moore has been one of the standouts with the winger scoring five goals in five games and announcing himself as a real prospect.

The teenager was also sensational for England U17 at the Euros netting four goals in four games and his dazzling performances lighting up the tournament.

Moore turns 17 on August 11 and could then sign his first pro contract which could prove to be a major coup for the Lilywhites.

Will Lankshear, Jamie Donley and Alfie Devine are a trio of youngsters who have also caught the eye of Postecoglou and will be pushing for first-team minutes next season.

Therefore, whilst there is the clamour for new additions from the supporters, ensuring the pathway remains open for the academy boys should remain a priority.
