Tottenham Hotspur are expected to add defensive options this summer as Ange Postecoglou prepares for his third transfer window at the club.
The business in the Ange Postecoglou era has been pretty positive for Tottenham Hotspur.
Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven, James Maddison and Brennan Johnson all made big impacts after arriving at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last summer.
January saw Radu Dragusin arrive with the Romanian having big potential for the future – especially having confirmed that he will now stay at Tottenham despite links with Napoli.
Timo Werner arrived on loan too, and showed enough to tempt Tottenham into extending his stay at the club.
Postecoglou will be happy with Tottenham’s recruitment so far but the Spurs boss will know that much more talent is needed this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur want Lutsharel Geertruida
Defenders will be on the radar and versatility will be welcomed.
Tottenham do appear to have a long-term back four in place, consisting of Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Destiny Udogie.
Depth is needed though with Emerson Royal expected to leave, so a right back will be a priority alongside another left back to compete with Udogie.
Flexibility to play in midfield or at centre back would be ideal too, presenting Tottenham with flexibility for the added Europa League commitments.
A prefect target has now emerged with Algemeen Dagblad in the Netherlands claiming that Tottenham are now keen on Feyenoord’s Lutsharel Geertruida.
It’s stated that Liverpool, Newcastle United and West Ham United are also keen on signing Geertruida.
The links to Liverpool maybe shouldn’t be a huge surprise given that Geertruida’s Feyenoord boss Arne Slot has replaced Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
Praised as ‘fantastic’ by Dutch analyst Marcel van der Kraan, Geertruida now has just one year left on his Feyenoord contract and the Rotterdam-born ace may decide to leave his boyhood club for the next step in his career.
RB Leipzig saw a €32.5million (£28million) deal collapse last summer but Feyenoord will now have to take less money due to Geertruida’s contract situation.
Geertruida could join forces with Micky van de Ven
Geertruida has experience of playing at centre back and right back, developing brilliantly in an inverted role – which may lend itself to playing under Postecoglou.
A move would also see Geertruida join up with compatriot Van de Ven in North London.
The pair already know each other well having played five times together in the Netherlands Under-21 setup.
Geertruida and Van de Ven never lost when playing together for the Under-21’s, winning four of the five whilst conceding just two goals.
The duo have played just once together in the Dutch first team, a 2-1 defeat to France in 2023, but they are in the squad for Euro 2024 together.
Tottenham may well be tempted to pair them up too and the chance to join forces may well appeal to Geertruida as he weighs up his future.
