Ben Jacobs claims that Tottenham Hotspur have asked about the possibility of signing in-form Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke.
Spurs have been linked with a surprise move for Dominic Solanke over the past couple of weeks.
Tottenham’s priorities lie in defence this month, with the club targeting a move for Genoa centre-back Radu Dragusin.
Even though Heung-Min Son has starred for Spurs this season, it’s no secret that the North Londoners are yet to replace their former talisman, Harry Kane.
The Sun claimed in late December that Tottenham are eyeing a £40 million move for Solanke and even prefer him over Brighton’s Evan Ferguson.
The former Liverpool striker has been in exceptional form for the Cherries this term, netting 13 goals in all competitions.
And while a move for a striker isn’t a priority this month, Ben Jacobs claims Spurs have enquired about the availability of the Cherries forward.

Tottenham have asked about Solanke signing
Speaking on The Last Word on Spurs, Jacobs discussed Tottenham’s interest in Solanke and claimed they may hold off on their search for a new striker until the summer.
“When you get to the summer, it might be if they’ve succeeded in that [signing a centre-back], then the priorities change,” the CBS journalist said.
“But I think the summer will be a bit more specific, I think they will want a Dominic Solanke type profile, or they want to enter the race for an Ivan Toney should he become available.
“But I’m not saying they are concrete Spurs targets, although Solanke has certainly been enquired about.”

Solanke has been up there with the most prolific goalscorers in the league this term, netting the same number of league goals as Son.
Only Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah have bagged more Premier League goals than the Englishman this season.
Spurs are lacking an out-and-out striker who can provide a real physical presence in the box.
Solanke certainly fits the profile and is enjoying a real coming-of-age season in England’s top flight.
